KATHMANDU, AUGUST 26

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 754,915 on Thursday with 2,052 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 705,893 with 1,929 discharges logged today.

On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll increased to 10,638 with 26 more fatalities.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, 14,374 total tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 9,702 were PCR tests while 4,672 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 3,868,717 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 381 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 2,433.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 93.5%, while the fatality rate stands at 1.5%. The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 38,384.

So far, a total of 8,936,422 people has received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 4,986,893 have received the first dose while only 3,949,529 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.

Currently, there are 366 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

In the same time frame, 515 infections were reported in the capital city while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur reported 88 and 142 cases respectively.

On Wednesday, Nepal's coronavirus caseload had reached 752,863 with 1,862 people testing positive for the infection.

Globally, over 214 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 4.4 million people have lost their lives to the disease.

Likewise, over 192 million people have recovered while more than 18 million cases are still active.
