KATHMANDU, JUNE 24
Minister of Finance Bishnu Prasad Poudel led the Nepali delegation to the virtual Asia and Pacific High-Level Conference on Belt and Road Cooperation last night. The theme of the conference was 'Promoting Cooperation in Combating the Pandemic for Sustainable Recovery'.
The finance minister, in his address to the conference, emphasised global cooperation, unity and solidarity in defeating COVID-19.
Highlighting the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on least developed countries and poorer segments of society, Poudel stressed the need to give due priority to those countries in vaccine cooperation as well as in post-pandemic recovery.
According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, BRI partner countries from South Asia, South East Asia, Oceania, Central Asia, West Asia and Latin America as well as international organisations attended the virtual Conference.
