Total active cases rise to 27,757

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 679,017 on Saturday with 2,309 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 641,565 with 2,197 discharges logged today.
On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll increased to 9,695 with 16 more fatalities.
As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, 14,910 total tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 10,625 were PCR tests while 4,285 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 3,528,514 PCR tests have been carried out till date.
Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 805 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 3,114.
Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 94.5 %, while the fatality rate stands at 1.5%.
The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 27,757.
The capital recorded as many as 421 infections today while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur recorded 108 and 86 respectively.
So far, a total of 4,661,963 people has received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 3,377,228 have received the first dose while only 1,366,046 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.
Currently, there are 344 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
On Friday, Nepal's coronavirus case count had reached 676,708 with 1,982 more people testing positive for the infection.
Globally, over 194 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 4.1 million people have lost their lives to the disease.
Likewise, over 176 million people have recovered while more than 13 million cases are still active.
