'Nepali Congress to mediate between govt, protesters'

NAWALPARASI: Nepali Congress senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel said that his party would coordinate between the government and the protesting parties to resolve protests launched by Madhes-centric parties.

Speaking at an interaction organised by the Reporters' Club, Nawalparasi chapter today, leader Paudel said that NC would mediate between the government and agitating parties to sort out the problems.

He added that his party would play a leading role to implement the Constitution adding that the party had played a crucial role to promulgate the charter.

In a different context, leader Paudel said holding local bodies' election as per the federal set-up would be better and elections with the previous VDC and municipality set-up would be irrelevant.

He added that the incumbent government could not perform well in favour of the people.
