NC will win in Province 2: Minister Farmulla Mansur

Rajbiraj, August 1

Minister for Labour and Employment and Nepali Congress central member Farmulla Mansur today claimed his party would emerge the most powerful political force in the country after the phase III civic polls in Province 2 slated for September 18.

Minister Mansur, who arrived in Rajbiraj to intensify the party’s publicity campaign for the upcoming polls, argued that Madhesi people favoured the Nepali Congress.

Addressing journalists at a press meet at the party office, Mansur claimed that his party would emerge victorious in many local units as employment and Madhesi concerns were the key election agendas of the party.

“Federalism, proportional representation and constitution amendment are the main agendas of the agitating Madhesi forces and only the Nepali Congress can resolve these issues,” said Mansur.

He also accused the CPN-UML of being the main obstacle to fulfilling the demands of the agitating Madhesi communities. “Though several attempts were made to address the genuine demands , they went in vain due to lack of cooperation from the UML. Hence, the residents of the region will retaliate against the UML in the polls,” argued Mansur. He claimed his party was always in favour of implementing the constitution and resolving the issues of the Madhes.
