Young, talented and versatile rapper AFU INSANE is vocalising the multifaceted culture of Madhes in its regional languages, including Nepali and English.

The most popular and rising star in Birgunj struggled a lot along the way to succeed in the music industry. Now he has the most distinctive lyrical power and passion for music. Mohammad Aftab Sheikh, better known by his stage title AFU INSANE, is a 17-year-old Nepali Hip- Hop artist whose talent and versatility have captivated audiences and brought him to the limelight in the local as well as international arena. AFU INSANE is the grandson of Shahid Miya. At a very young age, he used to listen to rap music and get inspired by Nepali and Indian rappers. Since the start of his career in 2021, AFU has been using music to share his experience with the target audience residing around the world. His journey into the world of music began with posting his compositions and performances on social media platforms where his talent swiftly gained attention and a growing fan base.

AFU INSANE's dedication to his craft is remarkable, considering that alongside his career in music, he is recently enrolled in Diploma in Civil Engineering at Birgunj Institute of Technology.

AFU INSANE is not just confined to music. He has wider artistic interests along with photography, videography, content creating, vlogging, poetry, acting and many more. He also separates time out of his busy schedule for social work and welfare of the society. His multifaceted approach to creativity allows him to bring a unique and sparkling perspective to his music and artistic endeavours.

One distinguishing aspect of AFU INSANE's career is his dedication to representing Madhes hiphop on the global map scale. He is not only a talented rapper but also an advocate for his culture and community, using his music to shed light in the Madhes region's rich heritage. One of AFU INSANE's popular songs, 'Khukuri' features powerful lyrics that resonates with many listeners around Nepal.

In a conversation with the young rapper, he shared insights into his journey and said, "KMC Mayor Balendra Shah is my inspiration. I have also composed a song for Rabi Lamichhane instantly. He has encouraged me and praised my skills."

"My first composition based on rap music is 'Airasia Tero Dai.' My interest in writing and singing began to grow when I was in grade VIII. I mostly listen to the songs of well-known rappers from Nepal and India," he said. "I was mostly inspired by Yama Buddha at the age of 10. Perhaps, this is why my taste for rap songs has soared. In the beginning, I used to write and hum to myself. I have been very active in rap and poetry for two years."

Despite his escalating music career, AFU INSANE places education as his top priority. AFU INSANE's debut on the stage during the Dashain fair in October 2022 marked a turning point in his career.

He amazed the audience with his performance. Since then, he has been receiving invitations to perform at various events and fairs. His dedication to expand the realm of Bhojpuri, Maithili and Nepali rap songs has been apparent in his creations, showcasing his commitment to both his culture and the art of music. AFU INSANE acknowledges the support and guidance he receives from mentors and collaborators in the music industry. He is poised to make a significant mark on the Nepali hip-hop scenario with a growing list of performances and a YouTube channel that continues to garner him followers.
