Nepali short film 'Ananta Yatra' bags international awards
KATHMANDU: Nepali short film Ananta Yatra (The Eternal Journey), written and directed by Sunil Pandey, has won the third place in 'International Video Art Festival Now & After' that took place in Moscow of Russia.
The movie depicts the eternal life of a human being with an artistic approach. It portrays the journey of the soul after the death of a person. Film-maker Pandey said that he made this movie in memory of his grandmother post her demise.
Prior to this, the short film was nominated for more than 20 international film awards. It received accolades in Yuki International Youth Media Film Festival in Austria, Berlin Experimental Short Film Festival in Germany, Nepal International Film Festival, Oscar College Short Film Festival, Ekadeshma International Short Film Festival among others.
Actor Radha Lamsal characterises the main protagonist in the story. Writer/Director Pandey has so far directed six other short films and is currently in the direction team of television series Singhadurbar-2.
