Nepalis stranded in Qatar

DHARAN: Thirteen Nepalis, who were working in Qatar’s Doha based FNB Trading and Services WLL Company, have been left high and dry there for the past five months. They had gone to Qatar through Rajendra Shrestha, a manpower agent form Itahari, two-and-a-half years ago.

The victims said over the telephone that they had been stranded as the company did not provide their salaries for the past five months. “We are sheltering in our friends’ rooms,” Pawan Kumar Poudel, a resident of Bhasi-5, Sunsari, said. Poudel said, “We could not protest against the company considering the risk factor.” The stranded Nepalis and their families have asked the government to take initiative so that they could get their outstanding salaries and for their safe return.
