Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 643,580 on Saturday with 1,527 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 606,666 with 3,066 people discharged today.

On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll shifted to 9,198 with 19 fatalities recorded today.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, 10,133 total tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 5,837 were PCR tests while 4,296 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 3,363,666 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 801 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 2,328.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 94.3 %, while the fatality rate stands at 1.5%.

The country's active Covid-19 case count has dropped to 27,716 with daily recoveries exceeding daily infections.

In the same time frame, 246 infections were reported in the capital city while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur reported 81 and 49 cases respectively.

So far, a total of 3,362,828 people have received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 2,604,866 have received the first dose while only 757,962 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.

Currently, there are 299 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

On Friday, Nepal's coronavirus case count had reached 642,053 with 1,391 more people testing positive for the infection.

Globally, over 183 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 3.9 million people have lost their lives to the disease.

Likewise, over 168 million people have recovered while more than 11 million cases are still active.
