KATHMANDU, AUGUST 30

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 761,124 on Monday with 1,902 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 714,520 with 1,808 discharges logged today.

On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll increased to 10,730 with 16 more fatalities.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, 16,233 total tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 11,892 were PCR tests while 4,341 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 3,906,029 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 393 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 2,295.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 93.9%, while the fatality rate stands at 1.5%. The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 35,874.

Currently, there are 338 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

On Sunday, Nepal's coronavirus caseload had reached 759,222 with 1,214 people testing positive for the infection.

Globally, over 217 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 4.5 million people have lost their lives to the disease.

Likewise, over 194 million people have recovered while more than 18 million cases are still active.
