KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 06

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 799,615 on Wednesday with 849 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 772,229 with 891 discharges logged today.

On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll increased to 11,192 with 12 more fatalities.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 15,465 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 11,165 were PCR tests while 4,300 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 4,256,803 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 194 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 1,043.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 96.6 %, while the fatality rate stands at 1.4%.

The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 16,194.

Currently, there are 467 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

On Tuesday, Nepal's coronavirus caseload had reached 798.766 with 762 more people testing positive for the infection.

The capital district holds the highest number of infections with 344 cases in the country while Lalitpur is second in line with 61 cases today.

So far, a total of 14,382,127 people has received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 7,962,647 have received the first dose while only 6,419,480 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.

Globally, over 236 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 4.8 million people have lost their lives to the disease.

Likewise, over 213 million people have recovered while more than 18 million cases are still active.
