New govt in a week, says Agni Sapkota

Sindhupalchowk, July 13:

Member of the Constituent Assembly and CPN-Maoist leader Agni Prasad Sapkota claimed today that the party in government has the right to nominate the president and the Constituent Assembly chairman.

A new government will be formed in a week and the CPN-Maoist is ready to form a one-party government if need be, he said.

He said this while inaugurating the 15th Sindhupalchowk district council.

“In other countries, ceremonial presidents are appointed by the party in government,” Sapkota said.

“It is not right for a certain party to claim the post of president because it played a crucial role in holding the Constituent Assembly polls.”

He said that his party was ready to hand over the responsibility of forming a government to any other party if it comes with the necessary strength.

On the occasion, Local Development Officer Ramji Prasad Baral presented a budget of Rs 1 billion for the coming year.
