Kathmandu, June 4:

The Parliament’s Human Rights and Social Justice Committee on Monday discussed the appointment of officials of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC). The committee invited in the meeting staffers of the NHRC to find out what problems they have been facing in abscence of commissioners and the chairperson.

Lawmakers assured the staffers that the committee would direct the government to fill the vacant positions soon. The appointment of commissioners and the chairperson remains stalled for the last 11 months.
