Nepal Mountaineering Association has honoured President of US-Nepal Climbers Association Passang Nima Sherpa for his efforts to get the Everest Day resolution passed by the New York State Assemblywoman Jennifer Rajkumar.

Amidst a function, NMA President Santa Bir Lama honoured Sherpa terming the USNCA's move to make the Everest Day on May 29 as the global event for the promotion of Nepal's adventure tourism.

According to Sherpa, this year on May 29th event will be celebrated as the Mount Everest Day in New York State Assembly Hall.

Sherpa also handed over the USNCA flag to Tenzing Sherpa, grandson of legendary climber Ang Rita Sherpa (Snow Leopard) for his Everest expedition this season.

Tenzing has announced to follow the footsteps of his grandfather by climbing Mt Everest this season. "Tenzing will carry the USNCA flag to the top of Mt Everest," Sherpa said.
