Kathmandu, May 20:

The tenth convention of the Nepal Students Union (NSU) is going to be organised at Bharatpur of Chitwan from tomorrow, some two years after it was disrupted in Pokhara and after being postponed for three times.

Three strong candidates — current vice president Pradip Poudel, general secretary Badri Pandey and former general secretary Basu Koirala — are preparing to contest election for the post of NSU president.

Student leader Gagan Thapa said he has pulled out his candidacy for the post. “The NC leadership has remained biased against me and therefore I have declared that I would not contest,” he said.
