UML meet concludes

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML’s ninth central committee meeting concluded on Sunday approving general secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal’s political report that sets a “democratic republic” through an election for a constituent assembly as the party’s goal. The party’s apex body adopted a policy of dialogue, trasformation and understanding to bring the Maoists into political mainstream but it would not strike any alliance with them unless they gave up violence. — HNS
