Govt notice to FM stations
KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Information and Communications has directed FM radio stations to operate their business within the parameters of the existing laws. The ministry, in a press release issued on Tuesday, stated that the government is always ready to assist such broadcasting institutions on the issue of airing programmes except news-based ones, if the stations broadcast their programmes while remaining within the bounds of the existing laws. — RSS
Campus chief steps down
BIRGUNJ: Udaya Silwal, the chief of the Thakurram multiple campus, on Tuesday resigned from his post citing FSU interference in examinations. Silwal said he resigned after the FSU pressed him to free one student who was caught while appearing in exam for another person. — HNS
Former DDC member killed
DANG: A group of Maoists abducted and shot dead Tek Bahadur Budhathoki, a former member of Dang DDC and resident of Gadhawa VDC-2, on Monday, the police said, adding that Dipak Roka, who was abducted along with Budhathoki, was released at night. Budhathoki was found dead in Bela VDC on Tuesday. — HNS
