WHF activist killed:

Surkhet: A group of suspected Maoists shot dead the central member of the World Hindu Federation (WHF) Chandra Prakash Singh Rathaur on Thursday morning. Rathaur was shot dead while having a bath at his house located near the Bulbule Gate at about 8.30 am by the group, said his family members. He was rushed to the hospital by security forces but was declared dead on arrival. A resident of Kailali district, he had been staying in Surkhet for the last two years. His body was taken to Kailali by an Army helicopter in the afternoon. Surkhet police confirmed the incident. — HNS

PANCHTHAR: Saraswoti Gadaal, a Maoist, surrendered to the police while denouncing Maoists’ terrorist activities. She had joined the Maoist party one-and-half-year ago and had been involved with acts of violence. — RSS
