DAMAK: Ganesh Budhathoki, 55, an employee of a Damak-based hotel died of severe cold in Jhapa district on Saturday, the police said. Inspector Govindaraj Kafle said the police were searching for his relatives to hand over his body. — HNS
Eight hurt in mishap
DANG: Eight locals of Sisahaniya-8 of Dang were injured when a minibus bound for Bhaluwang from Lamahi met with an accident on Friday. The injured are undergoing treatment at Lamahi Primary Health Centre, the police said. The condition of the injured is said to be normal. — HNS
NEA staffer shot at
BANKE: An unidentified gang shot at Krishna Hari Sharma, a technician of Nepal Electricity Authority in Kohalpur of Banke, on Friday night. Sharma, a resident of Karkaunda of Nepalgunj, was shot at while he was returning home from Kohalpur at around 10 pm. Sharma who sustained injuries in his shoulder is being treatment at Bheri zonal hospital, the police said. — HNS
Mishap kills driver
MAHOTTARI: A person was killed in a freaky accident in Mahottari district on Friday night. Tractor driver, Bahadur Khatwe, 30, was crushed by his own tractor. Khatwe, who was sleeping under his tractor on queue in front of Everest Sugar Mill at Ramnagar, was killed when somebody moved his tractor, the police said. Meanwhile, relatives of the victim closed the mill on Saturday, demanding action against the guilty and compensation for the victim’s family. — HNS
