Two killed, three hurt

DHADING: Two children were killed when a house collapsed in Naubise-2 of Dhading district on Monday. Seven-year-old Binita and Santu Bayalkoti, 14, of Kumari VDC, Nuwakot district, died when the house of Bir Bahadur Rokka collapsed, police said. Binita and Santu are daughter and sister-in-law of Bir Bahadur. Bir Bahadur, his daughter Anita and wife Jeenu, who were critically injured in the cave-in, have been sent to Bir Hospital.— HNS

ILAM: Maoist cadres allegedly beat up CPN-UML cadre Kamal Nepal, 31, of Jitpur VDC, on Sunday. Issuing a release on Monday, CPN-UML Ilam district committee said Maoist cadres Govinda Neupane, Dipak Bhandari, Shyam Bahadur Limbu and others thrashed Nepal after calling him at Madibung on Sunday. — HNS

30 Tibetans held

SINDHUPALCHOWK: Police on Monday arrested 30 Tibetan refugees while they were trying to enter Tibet illegally via Listi VDC on the Nepal-China border, inspector at the Sindhupalchowk District Police Office Hari Krishna Khatri said. Those arrested have been sent to Kathmandu, Khatri added. — HNS

YCL caders held

RAJBIRAJ: Police arrested four cadres of the YCL in Saptari on Monday for extorting from drivers and passengers of vehicles in Kadmaha of Saptari on East-West Highway, police said. The arrested are:
