Rautahat: Locals overpowered Jwala Singh-led Janatantrik Terai Mukti Morcha’s district Secretary Baiju Patel alias Kisan Singh and handed him to the police on Monday when he tried to intervene while they were loading timber in a tractor in Dumariya VDC. SP Laxman Neupane said locals handed Baiju over to the police, along with a gun and its ammunition. Meanwhile, seven armed JTMM-J cadres snatched a motorbike from Ajay Shah Kalwar of Dumariya VDC on Tuesday morning. — HNS

UML office padlocked

BANEPA: All Nepal Women’s Association, Kavre, padlocked the CPN-UML’s district office on Tuesday after a nominee under the PR system to the CA was dropped by the party. Initially, Sheela Katila’s name was put in the PR list. District chairperson of the CPN-UML-affiliated organisation, Mausami Upadhyaya, said more protest will be launched if Katila’s name was not recommended. — HNS
