Five factory men hurt

Itahari: Five workers of Arihant Multi Fibers Industry (AMFI) were injured in a clash with cadres of the Tharu Kalyankarini Sabha (TKS) at Sonapur-4 in Sunsari on Thursday. The clash occurred when the TKS cadres objected to the running of the AMFI in defiance of the bandh call. “Five workers were injured in the clash at the AMFI,” police said. — HNS

Dacoits shoot one

Rautahat: A villager was shot dead when he and other villagers tried to retaliate against an armed gang of dacoits on Wednesday night. Four other villagers were critically injured after being shot at by the dacoits. The gang of around 50 armed dacoits looted cash and goods worth Rs 2.5 million from 50 households in Katahariya VDC in Rautahat, locals said. Nepalis ‘arrested’

Sindhupalchowk: The Chinese administration allegedly arrested two Nepalis from Ramite Bazaar on the Nepal-China border last Thursday. “Chinese police arrested truck driver Khadak Bahadur Thapa of Ghum-yang-7 and his helper Devendra Karki of Maming-1,” relatives of the duo said in a joint statement on Wednesday. — HNS
