2 more dengue cases

BARDIYA: Two persons — Yuvraj Shrestha, president of the Bardiya chapter of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists and Rishi Kafle of Basgadhi — have been diagnosed with dengue fever. The Lucknow-based Javitri Nursing Home declared Shrestha a dengue patient. Shrestha was taken to the nursing home as he was suffering from fever. Kafle said: “The Javitri nursing home told me I had contracted dengue.” Kafle and Shrestha returned home on Thursday. Many dengue-stricken patients are undergoing treatment at the nursing home, the two said. — HNS

Indian aid for schools

KATHMANDU: Embassy of India on Friday signed two MoUs with the district development committees of Darchula and Kanchanpur offering assistance worth Rs 9.04 million for two schools, said a statement issued here. Under the Economic Cooperation Programme, the Government of India will provide a grant of Rs 5.01 million for the construction of school building and a boundary wall of Pashupati Shiksha Mandir in Darchula and Rs 4.03 million for the construction of a school building and provision of furniture for the Shree Ghatal Secondary School in Kanchanpur. — HNS

CZOP’s appeal

KATHMANDU: The National Coalition for Children - Children as Zone of Peace (CZOP) has appealed to the CPN-Maoists to immediately stop their activities of forcefully recruiting children in their People’s Liberation Army. In a statement issued on Friday, CZOP said even though the peace process is progressing, the rehabilitation and reunion of children associated with armed forces is not given priority. — HNS

KATHMANDU: The second phase of the National Polio Immunisation Programme under the Ninth National Immunisation Day is scheduled to be held on Saturday and on Sunday, according to the Department of Health Services, Child Health Division. — RSS

Minister’s appeal

KHAJURA: Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Hridesh Tripathi has accused that conspiracies are being hatched against the task of restructuring the state. Inaugurating the Nepalgunj Fuel Depot Expansion Project, Sajha, organised by the Nepal Oil Corporation on Friday, he said that the government should move forward respecting people wish as they have the rights to restructure the state. Stating that the supply of petroleum products is being influenced by the politics, Minister urged all not to be involved in such politics. — RSS
