Man kills wife, self :
NUWAKOT: A man thrashed his wife to death and later killed himself by consuming insecticide on Saturday night. Kaluman Tamang. 42, of Kakani village development committee ward number 3, Nuwakot committed suicide by consuming poison after he killed his wife Ganga Tamang over a dispute, police said, adding that Kaluman died on way to hospital. Ganga’s body was found on the top floor of the house with injury marks, police said. The couple had four children. — HNS
Two missing :
CHITWAN/TANAHUN: A Grade 10 student of the Belchowk-based Siddhartha School, who jumped into the Narayani River on Monday, has been missing, police said. According to eyewitnesses, the tenth grader, who was on the way to school to attend coaching classes, jumped from the Narayani River bridge. In Tanahun, a 50-year-old former Indian Gorkha soldier, Khim Bahadur Rana was swept away while he was fishing on the confluence of the Sage stream and the Madi river on Sunday. — HNS
Lightning kills one :
GAIGHAT: One Ajay Danuwar, 13, of Asari in Triyuga Municipality, died when lightning struck him on Sunday. Thule and Sarke Danuwar, who were with Ajay, fell unconscious, but regained their senses 16 hours later, police aid. — HNS
16 hurt in mishap :
DAMAULI: Sixteen passengers were injured when a passenger bus fell 50 metres down at Malebagar along the Prithvi Highway on Monday. — HNS
