DAMAK: A person was killed and another was seriously injured in a road accident along the East-West Highway in Jhapa district on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Sachin Rai (25) and the injured as Suresh Majhi of Lakhanpur VDC-5.

The accident took place when two motorcycles (Me 3 Pa 7636) and (Me 2 Pa 5545) collided head-on, in Lakhanpur VDC-1, according to police.

Rai died while undergoing the course of treatment at Damak-based Lifeline Hospital while seriously injured Majhi has been receiving treatment at Biratnagar-based Neuro Hospital, informed the Area Police Office, Damak.
