BAJURA, OCTOBER 10

A person died and a woman was injured after a house collapsed due to landslide in Jagannath Rural Municipality, Bajura, today.

The deceased has been identified as Prabhu Lal Giri, 45.

Prabhu's mother was injured in the incident. Police said that the woman was taken to Kolti Health Centre for treatment.

Police said that three families were displaced due to the landslide in the rural municipality.

According to District Police Office, Bajura, the Police Post at Juddi was also displaced after flood in the Karnali River. The police post is at high risk due to the increased water level in Juddi Khola and the Karnali River.

The team at the police post has been shifted to the under construction building of the health post after the rivers eroded the land of the police post.

Similarly, the temporary Police Post at Kawadi of Himali Rural Municipality is also at high risk as the water level in the Karnali and Kawadi Khola has increased.

Police said that the landslide buried a building with three rooms of Kalika Basic Level School in Swamikartik Khapar Rural Municipality.

Police said as many as seven houses were at high risk after the landslide debris fell from 250 metres above the houses at Kawadi Bazaar of Himali Rural Municipality. People of the houses were shifted to safer places and no human casualty had been reported.
