BAJURA, OCTOBER 10
Ever since their mother left them and their father Moti Sarki died a few weeks ago, the three children in Timada, Ward No 10 of Bajura's Budhiganga Municipality, have been left to fend for themselves.
The eldest of the kids is Santosh, aged 13, his younger brothers are Narendra, 12, and Anuraj, 8. Santosh left for India a few weeks ago. Wile the eldest of the siblings is now stranded in India due to lack of money, the two younger brothers are not faring well back home.
"Our mother married another man and left us two years ago and our father, who was sick for long, died about a month ago. We have now been left on our own," Narendra said, adding, they were somehow scraping by without their parents to provide for them.
"Our parents would work and provide for us when they were with us, now we are forced to make ends meet on our own, which is very difficult,"
Narendra shared,. "My mother wouldn't die if my father had money to afford treatment for his condition and our mother wouldn't have to leave us either."
According to locals, the kids' father Moti Sarki died after he couldn't afford treatment for his condition and didn't get any help from any quarters.
"We eat when our neighbours give us something and wear whatever they give us by way of clothes; otherwise, we have no option," Narendra said.
While Santosh has left his studies altogether, Narendra is a fifth grader but doesn't go to school any longer now, his brother Anuraj studies in Grade 1.
