Outfit’s nine-point charter for dialogue

Rajbiraj, October 22:

Tarai Samyukta Janakranti Party has put forth a nine-point demand as a precondition to sit for talks with the government.

Talking to mediapersons and human rights activists in a remote area in Saptari district today, central spokesperson of the party Anurag demanded that the people who died during the Madhes agitation be declared as martyrs.

Other demands of the party are compensation to the victims of Madhes agitation, right of self determination to the people of Tarai/Madhes, implementation of the eight-point agreement made with Samyukta Madhesi Morcha in February, immediate release of people detained during Madhes agitation and guarantee of security for the talks team.

Anurag also drew the attention of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ towards the threat of a senior Minister, saying that it would disrupt the talks.

“We will retaliate if the government used force as warned by the Home Minister to suppress us,” Anurag warned.

“We will be compelled to hit back if the govt used force”
