Parbati Dhakal murder case: absconding murder suspect held in Panchkhal
KATHMANDU: A police team deployed from the Metropolitan Crime Division arrested an absconding murder suspect of Parbati
Dhakal, who was fatally hit by a sledge hammer on head, from Panchkhal of Karve district, on Wednesday.
In a statement today, MCD said 20-year-old Varauta aka Nishant Rasailey was arrested from Simle in Panchkhal Municipality-12 in Kavre district today.
Police also said 20-year-old Sushma Pariyar of Kharinatrar in Nuwakot district was also arrested from Samakhusi in KMC-29 on Monday, for helping murder suspects to hide robbed jewellery.
Earlier, Sudama Lamichanne and Nishant Rasailey had brutally murdered 55-year-old Parbati Dhakal of Utargaya Rural Municipality-5 in Rasuwa district, who was staying at her daughter's house in Talung of Budanilakantha Municipality-1, on July 27.
The duo fatally hit the woman with a sledge hammer on her head and decamped with gold jewellery and other valuable items, after the crime.
Police seized a necklace clotted with pearl, plain gold necklace, gold bangle, ear gold rings from Sushma Pariyar, it said in the statement.
Murder suspect Nishant Rasailey and Sushma Pariyar have been sent to the Metropolitan Police Circle Maharajgunj for further investigation and action, as stated in the statement.
Earlier, the master mind behind the murder, Sudama Lamichanne, who was preparing to flee to India was held from Kapilvastu district, on August 18.
