Peace in YCL chief’s constituency

Gulmi, April 6:

Though the Young Communist League is being accused of resorting to violence, constituency no.3 of Gulmi, the constituency from which YCL president Chandra Bahadur Thapa (Sagar) is contesting polls, is in peace.

There have been no incidents of clash and brawl between cadres of different parties till date.

CPN (UML) candidate from Gulmi Constituency No. 2 Pradip Gyawali said, “As compared to other areas, the environment is more peaceful here.”

Nepali Congress candidate Chandra Bhandari agreed with Gyawali.

Chief district officer Abdul Kalam Khan said the environment is conducive for polls. Constituency no. 3 was considered more violence-prone area, but no violent incident has taken place there. Sagar said that the environment is encouraging.

Gulmi, which has 79 VDCs and three election constituencies, has 29 candidates in the fray. The district has 263,132 voters.
