Kathmandu, December 29

The Ministry of Home Affairs today issued a notice asking all security personnel not to meet political leaders and foreign delegates without taking prior permission from the minister.

Spokesperson for MoHA Joint Secretary Phanindra Mani Pokharel said in a notice that the role of security forces is to maintain peace and security in the country and abstain from any kind of influence.

"A clear reason and departmental permission is required for all security agencies personnel to meet political leaders, enter the office of political parties and meet people of diplomatic missions and delegates if they wish to go there for any reason other than their regular duty," the MoHA notice reads.

The chiefs of security agencies have been asked to monitor their personnel and implement this directive effectively.
