KATHMANDU, MAY 22
The Nepal Oil Corporation has raised prices of petroleum products yet again. The new prices will come into effect tomorrow.
Issuing a notice late this evening, NOC-the stateowned fuel supplier - stated that as it had been incurring heavy losses in the import of petroleum products, it had decided to hike prices of petrol, diesel, and kerosene by Rs 10 per litre each. The price of liquefied petroleum gas has also been raised by Rs 200 per cylinder.
Following the revision, petrol will now cost Rs 180 per litre, while diesel and kerosene will cost Rs 163 a litre each. LPG will cost Rs 1,800 per cylinder.
According to NOC, it is purchasing petrol at Rs 194.64 per litre, diesel at Rs 189.82 a litre, kerosene at Rs 140 per litre, domestic aviation fuel at Rs 152.02 a litre, international aviation fuel at Rs 131.19 per litre, and LPG at Rs 2,679.75 a cylinder from the Indian Oil Corporation.
Despite the increase in fuel prices in the domestic market, the NOC has clarified that it would still face losses of Rs 14.64 per litre on petrol and Rs 23.82 a litre on diesel.It will incur a loss of Rs 869.75 per cylinder of cooking gas.
