KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 9
The government has decided to contribute one month's salary from both the Prime Minister and the members of the Council of Ministers to support the relief and rehabilitation efforts in the earthquake-affected region.
The decision was announced following a meeting of the Council of Ministers held at Singha Durbar today. Government spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Rekha Sharma, stated that the funds will be allocated for the assistance of earthquake victims.
Furthermore, the Council of Ministers has resolved to allocate the amount collected, at a rate of Rs 5 from the infrastructure tax on fuel, to the Budhigandaki Reservoir Project. Additionally, they plan to proceed with the implementation process after conducting a study on the Karnali Chisapani Hydroelectricity Project.
In today's Cabinet meeting, decisions were made to designate the Mulpani cricket stadium in Kathmandu, as well as the cricket stadiums in Bharatpur and Morang, as national pride projects.
The Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation has been directed to execute the recommendations from the expert team's report on advancing the construction of the Nijgadh International Airport.
The government spokesperson also informed the media about the approval of the Social Sites Operation Guidelines, 2023.
Furthermore, it was decided to establish Nepal's embassy in Portugal, Europe, and appoint Samim Nepal to the position of Ambassador.
