Prime Minister Sushila Karki has pledged to prioritize health, education, employment and social security for persons with disabilities as part of Nepal's inclusive development agenda.
In her message on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the Prime Minister said barriers to infrastructure, legal services and government facilities will be gradually removed. She highlighted the need for coordinated efforts among federal, provincial and local governments to promote employment and entrepreneurship for PWDs.
PM Karki noted that Nepal's constitution and existing laws protect the social, economic, cultural and political rights of persons with disabilities and called for stronger advocacy to ensure those rights are upheld.
