Primary education programme picks up in Banke

NEPALGUNJ: The primary education programme — run in all 360 schools, madrasas and gurukuls in Banke district — is becoming effective.

The programme is aimed at improving the studies of children from Grade 1 to 3.

As many as 678 local study groups — also including parents and community elders — have been formed under the programme in various places of the district.

The groups engage children in creative activities after school time, preventing them from being involved in unwarranted activities, said Gorkha Bahadur Thapa, the Assistant District Officer.

Banke Unesco Club has been implementing the programme in coordination with the District Education Office, Banke.
