Probe team reaches Gaur
Birgunj, March 25 :
A three-member team led by SSP Pushkarnath Regmi at police headquarters in Kathmandu, arrived to probe the Gaur massacre in Rautahat district headquarters Gaur today.
According to district administration office in Rautahat, the team has started collecting information from the local administration, human right activists and eyewitnesses of the incident.
Meanwhile, a team of Shantimalika Women Human Rights led by Shova Gautam returned to the capital after probing the Gaur massacre today.
Altogether 28 persons were killed and over 40 injured in a clash between the activists of MJF and the activists of Maoists’ Young Communist League (YCL) on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, police today unlocked the government offices, which were padlocked by Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum (MJF) in Gaur since March 6.
Life that was disrupted after the incident has been becoming normal in Gaur. The markets in Gaur were open from the morning and vehicles plying to long as well as short routes from rural areas to Gaur plied today.
Movement of people also increased today than in the past few days. The private and public schools in Gaur were also open today.
Meanwhile, a patrol of locals at Samanpur took control of one person with weapons last night. Locals took control over Shankar Das of Samanpur-2 with a pistol and was handed over to police today, District Police Office (Rautahat) said. The police have been grilling Das, DSP Kuber Kathayat said.
