BHOJPUR: Property worth Rs 820,000 was destroyed in a fire in Danda Bazaar-1 of Dhankuta district on Sunday night.

According to the Eastern Regional Police Office, Biratnagar, the two-storey house belonging to Chandra Bahadur Limbu and rented by Kul Prasad Limbu caught the fire from its kitchen.

"The house, Rs 100,000 cash, four tola silver and other valuables have turned into ashes," said Limbu.

No cattle and human casualties have been reported, said police.

Police with the help of locals doused the fire.
