BIRATNAGAR: Province 1 is to conduct an awareness campaign — carrying the slogan 'Responsible for Health, Basis for Prosperity' — for the promotion of health in the province.

The campaign announced by the Ministry of Social Development is called 'My Year 2075', which is part of a national programme of the federal government.

The Ministry of Social Development made public an eight-point commitment in this connection here on Thursday. It stated that various programmes would be conducted for the declaration of the commitments.

The campaign will be kicked off with the organisation of a yoga camp at local Paropakardham on the morning of Baishakh 1 (April 14), the Nepali New Year's Day.

A public awareness programme on public sanitation would be organised at Koshi Zonal Hospital Chok, Chief of Health Services Division at the Ministry, Gyan Bahadur Basnet, said.

Governor Govinda Subba is scheduled to inaugurate the yoga camp, Minister for Social Development Jeevan Ghimire will launch the environmental sanitation campaign, and Province 1 Chief Minister Sherdhan Rai will declare 'My Year 2075' campaign on the New Year's Day.
