KATHMANDU:

The Partnership for Sustainable Development Nepal (PSDN) has distributed essential relief materials and conducted health clinic for the 250 earthquake-affected households of Limsa and Pachhyauri communities of ward no 3 in Barkote rural municipality of Jajarkot district.

Particularly, Blankets and woolen sweaters are distributed for new mothers, pregnant women, senior citizens, and school children by PSDN Nepal with support from EWB-USA/ UF Chapter on January 5, according to organisers.

The relief package was distributed jointly by the Chairman of Barkote Rural Municipality Bir Bahadur Giri and Dr. Datta Bahadur Rawal, Chairman of PSDN Nepal.

After receiving warm clothes and health care services, the earthquake survivors were very happy and expressed their sincere gratitude to the supporting organization and they also requested additional relief materials for remaining households and school children at the earliest, said Dr Rawal.

Quake survivors also said that warm clothes help them to resist winter weather during their stay at poorly managed temporary shelters.

The chairman of Barkote rural municipality Giri also expressed his gratitude and appreciation to PSDN Nepal and EWB-USA UF Chapter for their humanitarian assistance in this dire situation in the community in the aftermath of the recent earthquake in the district.

Giri also requested PSDN Nepal to make a plan to support additional earthquake victims through essential relief items, safer shelters, and WASH activities for the well-being of the earthquake victims, according to Rawal.
