Pyuthan consumers leave many development works in limbo
PYUTHAN: Due to the lack of the concern from local consumer committees over agreements need to conduct planned projects, the District Development Committee in Pyuthan district are struggling hard to complete the projects on time.
The Pyuthan District Development Committee informed that the Office is trying to complete all the projects on time this year.
But the consumer committees are not paying attention toward the agreements, the DDC claimed.
Just a month ago, the DDC had called on municipalities, VDCs and consumer committees for the agreements, but they are yet to comply with that, informed DDC Project and Administrative Officer Badri Nath Lamsal.
Local Development Officer Shiva Prasad Regami informed that if all the concerned stakeholders paid attention toward the agreement, the work would get complete within two months.
Most of the projects in district have a budget of above Rs 1 million. However, Rs 4.05 million has been allocated to maintain the roads up to Koching VDC.
If works did not get complete on time, the DDC would be over-busy at the end of fiscal year or the allocated budget would lapse.
The concerned stakeholders and political parties should be focused for the proper implementation of projects on time, the DDC officials suggest.
