Residents of Phungling, district headquarters, confirm that they felt the tremor

KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 9

An earthquake measuring 5.4 ML on the Richter scale shook Taplejunj district early today morning.

National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre stated, the tremor was felt at 7:35 am local time with its epicenter near Olangchung Gola of Phaktanglung Rural Municipality in Taplejung district. The coordinates of the epicentre are 27.89°N, 87.91°E, according to the Centre.

Residents of Phungling Municipality, the district headquarters, confirmed that they felt the shaking from the earthquake.

No damage or injuries have been reported.
