HETAUDA, DECEMBER 5
Nepali Congress Bagmati Province is holding second round of election to choose its province president on Sunday. The re-election was scheduled after none candidates secured 51 per cent of the votes in the first round held on Saturday.
Out of 2,083 votes cast, Indra Bahadur Baniya secured 992 votes while his nearest rival Jagadishwar Nar Singh KC got 872 votes. Similarly, Bhimsen Das Pradhan stood third with 197 votes.
Prior to the second round of votes, Bhimsen Das Pradhan announced he was throwing his weight behind Baniya in the second round.
Re-election is under way in Hetauda.
Nepali Congress leaders Prakash Man Singh and Gagan Thapa are in Hetauda to garner necessary support to ensure KC's victory in the second round of the election.
