Report on missing submitted

Kathmandu, April 7:

The probe committee constituted for determining the situation of the people said to have gone missing from custodies of the State presented its sixth report to Home Minister Dan Bahadur Shahi today. The committee had investigated the whereabouts of 60 persons in its report.

According to the Home Ministry, those released after preliminary inquiry included Ujjwal Shukla, Rhishi Bhattrai, Khadga Bahadur Swar of Jumla, Gopal Maharjan, Nabin Bibhas Punmagar, Pashupati Dhungana, Prem Bahadur Neupane, Binas Thapa and Bishnu Thapa, Madhu Mandal, Ramprasad Tripathi of Dhading, Renu Ale of Lalitpur, Saroj Babu Kunwar of Gorkha, Subha Shankar Kandel of Baglung, Subhash Rai of Kathmandu and Gyan Bahadur Maharjan of Kirtipur.

Jagu Chaudhari of Dang, Toyanath Chaulagain of Sindhuli, Dharma Raj Dangol of Lalitpur, Basu Pudasaini of Gorkha, Maha Prasad Amagain of Gorkha, and Surya Man Maharjan of Lalitpur were released from detention.

The ministry said Laxmi Pandey of Nawalparasi had never been arrested.

Amar Bahadur, Ibrahim Khan, Kamal KC and Kiran Maharjan, Kulchandra Fuwal, Chandra Lal Giri, Chandralal Prasain, Jhakaman Tamang, Tara

Bhandari, Dinesh Limbu, Devraj Pradhan and Desh Bahadur Limbu, Narayan Kunwar and Prakash Thapa are under detention.

Bijaya Bhattarai, Bina Magar, Bimala BK, Birendra Basnet, Bhaikaji Ghimire, Ram Bahadur Basnet, Ram Bahadur Khadki, Ramesh BK, Lalmaya Tamang of Kavre, Lahanu Lal Chaudhari, Laxman Khanal, Sani Pakhrin, Sagar Tamang, Sushila Thapa, Santoshi Ale, Himal Sharma, and Tribhuvan Shaha are under detention.

The report states that Krishna Pant of Gorkha, Badri Khadka of Dolkha, Buddhi Pandey of Gorkha and Raju Chhetri of Kaski have escaped after breaking the security cordon.
