Rhino-poaching: 4 held
Kathmandu, May 24:
Based on information given by three army deserters and a serviceman, who were arrested last week from Bardiya in connection with poaching of two rhinos, the Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation recently arrested four more suspects, said Annapurna Nanda Das, director-general of the department.
“We have arrested four civilians, who are members of a network of poachers, for their involvement in poaching. Through interrogation, we may be able to nab more members of the network,” said Das.
He said the department has been interrogating the army deserters and serviceman.
“The deserters and serviceman have helped us by giving information about some more members of the network,” Das further said.
