DAMAULI: One person died and another sustained critical injuries after a speeding motorcycle they were riding on hit a dog and fell into a roadside pit in Dumre of Bandipur Municipality-1, Tanahun, on Tuesday night.

The deceased has been identified as motorcyclist Rajkumar Ale, a permanent resident of the then Keshavtar, according to the Tanahun District Police Office.

The duo were heading towards Dumre from Aanbukhaireni when the bike (Ba 58 Pa 4267) suddenly collided with a dog and fell into a roadside pit.

Critically injured in the accident, Ale had been rushed to a local Laxmi Hospital. He, however, died while undergoing treatment.

Injured pillion rider Sumesh Shrestha (20) is currently being treated at the Pokhara-based Manipal Hospital.
