Probe committee sought to investigate Tiwari's murder

KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML-aligned Youth Association Nepal has demanded the government to form a committee to investigate the murder of its Rupandehi district chairman, Durga Tiwari, on Tuesday.

The YAN Chairman Rajib Pahari, organising a press meet today, demanded that the guilty be charged for the murder at the earliest.

Pahari claimed that Tiwari was murdered to weaken their ongoing protest against the division of Province No. 5 as per the Constitution amendment bill proposed by the ruling coalition.

If the committee was not formed by today, the Association would launch various forms of protest across the country, Pahari added.

The Association has formed a separate committee itself under its General Secretary Kiran Paudel to probe the murder.

Meanwhile, protest in the Rupandehi district is on demanding justice for Tiwari, who was shot death by an unidentified group yesterday.
