KATHMANDU, APRIL 26

A meeting of the Council of Ministers decided to shutdown schools nationwide on the recommendation of the COVID-19 Crisis Management Committee (CCMC).

Earlier, the CCMC had recommended the government to stall all the ongoing examinations held by various universities across the nation in a bid to curb the spread of second wave of coronavirus infection.

The CCMC had also recommended the local authorities to enforce prohibitory order if the active COVID-19 cases exceed more than 500 in cities areas and 200 cases in hilly regions.

The meeting also decided not to halt the operation of both the domestic and international flights.

However, the Nepalis coming home from abroad have to stay in home quarantines mandatorily for 10 days whereas foreigners are required to remain in hotel quarantine for the same number of days.

Meanwhile, Nepal has reported daily infection in excess of over three thousand cases and is also witnessing rise in mortality rate across the nation.
