Schools in upper Dolpa closed for six winter months

DOLPA: All the schools in the high lands of Dolpa district are closed for six months as the temperature is increasingly going down following the rain and snowfall beginning after mid-October, according to the Dolpa District Education Office.

The schools, however, are closed after conducting the annual examinations, said the DEO. School Inspector Bir Bahadur Dhami shared that the schools, closed informally with the drop in temperature, will open in April next year.

Dhami argued that the schools were closed as the students would not attend classes during the winter.

Locals of six VDCs in upper Dolpa as Saldang, Tinje, Mukot, Charka, Dho, Bhijer have started migrating towards lowland due to increasing cold.
