Seasonal flu patients up in Damauli hospital

Number of patients suffering from common cold and seasonal diseases have increased in District Hospital, Tanahun since the last few weeks.

Dr Anil Giri of the hospital said the number of patients suffering from seasonal diseases had increased at the hospital with the fall in temperature.

“Patients suffering from asthma, common cold, pneumonia, fever and typhoid, among others, have increased at the hospital,” he added. Hospital sources said more than 80 such patients visited the hospital on a daily basis.

Local residents of Byas Municipality, Ghanshikuwa, Cyamin, Jamune, Kahnushivapur, Keshabtar, Manpang, Shyamgha among other VDCs of the district visit the hospital for treatment.

Chief of District Health Dr Pawanjung Rayamajhi said the health workers advised the patients to drink boiled water, wear warm clothes, and not to eat stale food.

The number of seasonal patients has also increased at private hospitals of the district. The locals have begun to warm themselves by lighting bonfires at various chowks of the district.

Meanwhile, as many as 20 kidney patients received dialysis service as of Sunday after the hospital started the service a month ago.

The dialysis service was started with technical support from Health Care Foundation, Kathmandu.
