SEE beginning today

As many as 55,236 students are appearing in this year’s Secondary Education Examination beginning from tomorrow in Province 7.
Data at Regional Education Directorate, Dipayal, show 50,229 students under regular, 4,086 under exempted and 921 under technical categories are taking the exam.
The number of students appearing in SEE has gone down by 9,781 this year compared to last year. Far-western Regional Education Director Mansingh Bista said the number of students might have gone down due to introduction of grading system. Bista said preparation for the exam was over.
According to Bista, question papers and answer sheets have already been dispatched to exam centres of nine districts in the province.
Exam Section Chief Purna Shah at the directorate said all necessary human resources required to conduct the examination had already reached exam centres. Shah said exam centres would be inspected at the district and regional levels. Shah said security forces were deployed to the exam centres for security.
Students from 1,049 schools are appearing in the SEE. A total of 205 exam centres have been fixed in the province. “Around 300 students were disqualified from appearing in this year’s SEE,” Shah added.
Similarly, 103,340 students are appearing in the SEE from the eastern region. According to Regional Education Directorate, Dhankuta, 446 exam centres have been fixed in the region. Despite implementation of the federal set-up, SEE is taking place under the zonal structure as 103,340 students from 14 districts of Province 1 and Saptari and Siraha districts of Province 2 are appearing in the exam. As many as 83,866 students from Province 1 are taking SEE.
Section Officer Dipak Shrestha at Regional Education Directorate, Dhankuta, said 96,578 students under regular and 6,762 under exempted categories are appearing in the exam.
Morang has 17,789 examinees appearing in the SEE. As many as 69 exam centres have been fixed in Morang.
Similarly, 12597 students are appearing in the exam from Sunsari. The district has 46 exam centres. With 3,011 students appearing in the SEE, Dhankuta has 18 exam centres.
Taplejung, Panchthar, Ilam, and Sankhuwasabha districts have 2,399; 4,315; 5,120 and 2,584 students appearing in the SEE respectively. There are 4,278 SEE candidates in Solukhumbu where 14 exam centres have been fixed. Okhaldhunga and Khotang have 3,056 and 4,278 students taking the SEE respectively.
As many as 9,595 students from Saptari and 9,878 from Siraha are appearing in the exam.
